The Cool Ruler is Gone!!!

Reggae legend Gregory Isaacs announced dead at age 59. Isaacs, one of reggae's most enduring and prolific crooners, passed away after a year-long battle with lung cancer. It is most certainly a sad day today. Our prayers go out to his family and friends.
The cool ruler lives forever. Rest In Peace and Power. (1951-2010)

Joell Ortiz’ “Sing Like Bilal” as well as other Premo-produced joints from Bumpy Knuckles, Styles P, MC Eiht and Lady of Rage will appear on December 7th’s compilation.

Legendary Gang Starr producer DJ Premier has released several compilations through his 20-plus year career recording and releasing Hip Hop music. The Texas-born New York transplant released 1997’s NY Reality Check, a mix release presented by Haze. Additionally, Premier’s respected mixing abilities were the cause for 2005’s Kings of Hip Hop joint-release with Mr. Thing on the BBE/Rapster label, where the icon cut several Soul and Funk classics, alongside Hip Hop.

Now releasing music with his own Year Round Records imprint, Premier has announced Get Used To Us, due December 7. The label compilation is confirmed to feature Year Round artists Blaq Poet, Nick Javas and NYG’z, as well as longtime collaborators Freddie Foxxx (a/k/a Bumpy Knuckles), Royce Da 5′9″ and Lady of Rage. Also appearing are MC Eiht, Teflon, Grand Puba, Styles P, Saigon, Joell Ortiz and others.

Nick Javas – Not A Game (Prod. by DJ Premier)
Khaleel – Hot Flames (Prod. by DJ Premier)

J-LIVE “UNDIVIDED ATTENTION” EP Artwork & Tracklist

Super hyped over this!!

Tracklist:
1. HOME OR AWAY (produced by Korede)
2. THE WAY THAT I RHYME (f/ Boog Brown)(produced by Korede)
3. HOW I FEEL (produced by Nicolay)
4. UNDIVIDED ATTENTION (produced by S.M.K.A)
5. FITNESS (f/ Homeboy Sandman)(produced by Locsmif)
6. CALCULATIONS (f/ Oddy Gato)(produced by J-Live)

<a href="http://j-live.bandcamp.com/album/j-live-the-way-that-i-rhyme-poetry-in-motion-single">J-Live ~ The Way That I Rhyme... Poetry In Motion (single) by J-Live</a>
In preparation for the release of his fifth full-length album, 3TP is releasing J-Live’s fourth EP titled “Undivided Attention”. The six song EP features production by J-Live, Floyd The Locsmif, Nicolay of Foreign Exchange, 808 Blake of SMKA and up and coming 3TP producer, Korede. Guest vocalists include Boog Brown, Homeboy Sandman and 3TP artist Oddy Gato. The six song EP includes Korede’s production debut, this past summer’s banger “The Way That I Rhyme”. Also worth noting is the team work, and lack there of, J exhibits with himself on the songs “Home Or Away” and “How I Feel”. Consistent with the cover art, J is approaching certain songs as if he were a three-man group consisting of an emcee, a deejay and a producer. While they’ve worked well together for the past couple decades, it’s obvious the three have some unresolved issues. Hopefully they will be hashed out and reconciled on or before the release of next year’s full-length album “S.P.T.A. Said Person of That Ability (pronounced Spitta)”. Concept: "I Don't Rhyme for the sake of Riddlin" Art piece is 5ft x 6ft.

We're working on a series of canvas's for our office/studio. The series is called "I am Hip Hop". Paying homage to our culture, we came up with a few quotes from various artist. Swiss Precise aka Indeks of KBH Crew killed this one. You have to really take some time to look at the details! This is 1 of the 4 piece we're working on now.

Check out the canvas rocked by Hope one of KBH Crew.

I hear we have two others on the way. On some "close ya mouth piece" type joints! More to come.

Hell Razah: Kids In The Street (Official Music Video)

"Initially slated for a spring release, the album was postponed indefinitely when Razah was admitted to the hospital last April with a health emergency. Having since learned how to walk, talk, and eat again, Razah and label Nature Sounds finally feel comfortable releasing the new album, and in a show of solidarity between artist and label, Nature Sounds has announced they will be donating all proceeds from the project to Razah’s family as the respected wordsmith continues to recover."
